About Severance Music Center

Celebrated as one of the most magnificent concert venues in the world, Severance has been the home of The Cleveland Orchestra since its opening in 1931. This landmark building is located in the heart of Cleveland’s University Circle area — a picturesque setting on the city’s east side that serves as an epicenter of major cultural, educational, and medical institutions.

Our Severance Events Team is committed to making your special occasion as memorable as a concert performance by “America’s best” orchestra. From intimate business meetings, memorable performances, and large galas, our experienced staff is prepared to meet all of your expectations.

Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Concert Hall

Our largest space, the Mandel Concert Hall seats 2000 guests, and offers a generous stage in a picturesque setting gilded in silver leaf.

The Mandel Concert Hall is especially ideal for larger gatherings such as concerts, recitals, graduations, lectures, or other performances.

The Bogomolny-Kozerefski Grand Foyer

Ideal for weddings and receptions, corporate meetings, receptions, parties, dinners, and galas, our stunning historically-rich Grand Foyer can accommodate up to 250 guests.

Serving as a transition area between Severance's main entrance and concert hall, the spectacular Bogomolny-Kozerefski Grand Foyer is in the Egyptian Revival style — with prominent displays of bronze and brass. The lobby is encircled by two-dozen red jasper marble columns imported from Italy. During the opening of Severance Hall in 1931, journalists marveled at the Grand Foyer’s beauty and referred to it as “a gigantic jewel box.”

Other Available Spaces

In addition, we have a number of other rooms and suites available to rent. These could serve up to 100 guests standing and 85 guests dining.
